Energy bill review

We review your electricity, gas and home heating oil costs, compare what's available, and show you whether moving to a new provider, renegotiating with your current one, or claiming a rate you're already entitled to would reduce your bills.

Your intro rate has ended

Most energy suppliers offer discounted intro rates for new customers. When those end, accounts roll to a higher standard rate — often with no meaningful notification. Many households stay on that rate for years.

You haven't compared recently

Energy prices and tariffs change throughout the year. A comparison that looked good 12 months ago may not reflect today's market. Your situation may also have changed — usage, household size, contract end date.

Your tariff or meter type may not suit how you use energy

Night saver, smart and time-of-use tariffs can mean paying less for the same consumption. Whether that applies to your household depends on your meter type, usage pattern and when you're home. It's worth checking.

How SavYour helps

1

We review what you're currently on

We look at your tariff name, current rate, MPRN or GPRN, annual usage and contract end date — everything needed to compare accurately against what's available.

2

We check the market

We compare the options available to households with your usage profile: new supplier offers, retention deals your current provider may apply, and tariffs you could be entitled to switch to.

3

We give you the exact next step — you take it

We show you whether to move to a new provider, call your current one, or request a tariff change. The steps, links and account details are set out clearly. Nothing changes on your account unless you choose to act.

Common questions

How do I know if my intro energy rate has ended?+

Check your bill or annual usage statement. Your tariff name is usually printed on the bill. If it says "standard rate" or you don't recognise the name from when you signed up, your intro rate has likely ended. Your supplier should also have contacted you when the intro period finished, though many customers miss or don't act on these.

What is an MPRN and do I need it?+

MPRN stands for Meter Point Reference Number — it's the unique identifier for your electricity supply point. You'll find it on your electricity bill. The gas equivalent is a GPRN. We ask for these to run an accurate comparison. You can still start without them — they help us be more precise.

Will switching energy supplier cause a gap in my electricity or gas supply?+

No. Energy supply and billing are separate. When you move supplier, the physical supply continues uninterrupted — only the company billing you changes. There is no risk to your supply during a switch.

Can I renegotiate with my current energy supplier instead of switching?+

Yes, and in some cases it's the better option — particularly if you're mid-contract, close to exit fees, or have been a long-term customer. We look at both moving and renegotiating and tell you which is the stronger next step for your account.

What is a smart or night saver tariff?+

Night saver tariffs charge a lower rate during off-peak hours, typically overnight. Smart tariffs do similar things in real time using a smart meter. Whether these save money depends on your meter type and when you use energy. We check whether a different tariff structure would suit your household as part of the review.
