What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in your browser by the websites you visit. They allow a site to remember information about you between visits. Some cookies are needed for a site to work; others are used to measure how a site is used or to support advertising. This policy explains which cookies SavYour uses and how you can control them.

Categories in use

Necessary

Required for the site to work. SavYour does not currently set session or authentication cookies because there are no user accounts. We do use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track visitors across other websites — this is treated as necessary because it does not identify you or set any storage on your device.

Analytics (consent required)

We use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These tools set cookies and transfer data to Microsoft and Google respectively. They are only loaded if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you reject or later turn analytics off, the cookies these tools set are cleared from your browser and no further data is sent.

Marketing

No marketing or advertising cookies are active on the site at the moment. Your preference is remembered for future use.

Tools we use

Umami — always on

Aggregate traffic statistics. Cookieless. No personal data collected. Data is processed by Umami Software on our behalf.

Microsoft Clarity — only with consent

Records anonymised session information such as mouse movement, scroll depth and clicks so we can identify usability issues. Sets cookies including _clck, _clsk, MUID and CLID. Data is transferred to Microsoft. Form field contents are masked by default.

Google Analytics 4 — only with consent

Traffic and event analytics. Sets cookies including _ga and _ga_<id>. IP addresses are anonymised. Data is transferred to Google, which is a data controller for the information it receives.

Replit — hosting platform

Our hosting provider collects infrastructure-level access and performance information for the running site. This is separate from user analytics and does not set cookies in your browser.

Managing your choice

When you first visit the site, a cookie banner asks you to accept or reject analytics. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key savyour_cookie_consent. This value stays on your device and is not sent to any server.

To change your preference at any time, clear your browser storage for savyour.ie (or use your browser's site settings to delete site data) and the banner will reappear on your next visit.

You can also block or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may cause parts of the site to stop working.

This policy covers the SavYour website at savyour.ie. If we add or remove analytics tools, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent again.
